Bringing my children up around animals

For me this is a great part of life, learning to care and look after an animal teaches a child a lot of different things. Firstly you learn so much about the animal and you also learn how to feed, clean and teach an animal.

In our home we have a lot of pets
 2 dogs Bonnie and Radley
2 rabbits Ronnie ( aka mummy rabbit) and Sooty
3 cats Mog, Mylo and Lolad 5 mice Squeak, Garfield, Minnie, Maisie and Connie
we also have two tanks of fish.

We recently lost our second guinea pig spot and again this teaches them that as part of our lives things die. He has been reunited with his little friend toffee in the sky.

We have had great fun with mummy rabbit having 2 litters, Mog the cat is also Mylo's mummy and the endless dog walks and great adventures we have.

The mice our the newest addition to the household, my sister bought 3 of them for me for my birthday, I have since bought another 2 I saw a ginger one and fell instantly in love. They come out most evenings. Rylie has no fear at all and will just pick them up. The girls are not so fearless and do squeal sometimes especially if they have run up there jumper sleeve, which they do tend to do a lot.

All of the animals get along ( accept the cats and mice something I don't think I will achieve) but both dogs cats and rabbits all get on really we'll and I often find the cats huddled in with the dogs. The rabbits come in the house for a run around whilst it is winter and mummy rabbit loves playing with Radley.
