Christmas 2014

Wow it has come round so quickly. We have already put the tree up we put the lights on first then the tinsel and beads then the baubles followed by the glitter shimmer which adds the finishing touch. We then wrapped the Christmas presents and placed them under the tree.
This morning we made paper chains we find if you pritstick them they hold a lot better than just licking them or using the peel off sticky paper they put on some.
We have also made handmade Christmas cards. We do this every year as I personally think it's nicer to receive a hand made card. It means so much time as thought and effort has gone into them. This year we made finger print reindeers. We all had one finger print on then Rylie drew the noses eyes and antlers on.

March 2014

Finally starting to see some sunshine, with all the wet weather we have had it does make a change. Especially to people's moods! On the school run this morning everyone was very cheerful, I've also noticed all the bulbs are coming out and the trees are all budding. I take great pride in my garden so all the bulbs I planted last autumn are going to make my garden look very colourful.
I am excited to watch my garden change from a bare boring scene to one which has lots of colour and excitement.
This year my aims are to plant more shrubs which attract the bees and butterflies and to paint the woodwork some bright colours.

I also like to look after my birds my dad was a bird watcher and even though I can only feed a small part of the population it satisfies to me to do so, last year I had a regular visitor who was not your typical feathered friend, more furry. He was of course a squirrel. I bought some bird feeders to stop the squirrel eating all the bird feed and he didn't come everyday so the birds still got there fair share. I often smile when I see the birds on the feeder and know my dad would be proud of the tradition he bought us up around and although I'm not completely mad traveling the uk to see one "rare" bird I do always notice birds whilst I'm out and about.
